Reinforcement of the rule of law

The rule of law is the cornerstone of democratic governance, ensuring that all individuals and institutions—public and private—are accountable to laws that are publicly promulgated, equally enforced, and independently adjudicated. Our efforts to reinforce the rule of law encompass a comprehensive range of activities designed to promote legal certainty, equality before the law, and the protection of fundamental rights.

We support the drafting and implementation of constitutional and legislative reforms to close legal gaps and harmonize national laws with international standards. We also assist in implementing access to justice initiatives, including legal aid services for vulnerable populations and the development of online legal information platforms.

Furthermore, we provide technical assistance for monitoring the enforcement of court decisions and support the use of digital tools to improve transparency and efficiency in legal proceedings. By facilitating cross-border cooperation on issues such as anti-corruption, human trafficking, and organized crime, we help build resilient legal frameworks capable of responding to both national and transnational challenges.
