Promoting Rural Development in Northern Uganda

The overall objectives of the project are:

  • To facilitate the strengthening of the technical and local capacities of smallholder farms and their organizations to address yield gaps and adopt agroecological practices for climate smart farming and sustainable use of natural resources.
  • To improve the competitiveness of 570 agro-based MSMEs through the supply of nonfinancial and financial services and promotion of inclusive market led models for green products.

Tasks of the expert

Support the team leader in managing and implementing all key outputs of this tender related to enhanced quality and markets for participating MSMEs.

Technical advice on MSMEs business development, business acceleration, marketing, quality assurance based on their operating capacities.

Engage with local partner organizations and anchor organizations to adopt and propagate practices.

Ensuring quality implementation, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in accordance with deadlines

Qualifications: 
  • University master’s degree in Rural finance, business administration, development economics, agricultural economics, or related discipline
  • 7 years of professional experience in the agribusiness sector
  • 3 years working with women and youth owned MSMEs.
  • 5 years of professional experience in East African region.
  • Plus 3 years of professional experience in Northern Uganda.
