24.10.2017

AFC Agriculture and Finance Consultants - in cooperation with its partners ADG and Integration - has been successfully supporting MSMEs within the EIB East African Technical Assistance Programme since 2014. This programme covers the Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Congo. The consulting team is proud to announce that more than 10,000 MSMEs have been trained in over 140 events since the project start in June 2014 so far. The activities attract clients of financial institutions both men and women but mostly youths who are determined to pursue knowledge for business excellence through entrepreneurship.

These nationwide activities, typically conducted in rural areas and smaller districts, offer customised, practice-oriented and innovative training courses targeted at the development of MSMEs into the economic drivers that they are. These activities are implemented with respect to the local regulations and guidelines as they involve cooperation with the local government, the civic leaders and government tax bodies. In empowering the MSMEs, we make a healthy contribution to the banking sector as we empower MSMEs to present bankable proposals to the banks.

Topics include, among others:

  • Accounting
  • Book Keeping
  • Business Development/ Business Expansion Strategies
  • Business Planning
  • Cash flow Planning and Management
  • Customer Care
  • Financial Controls in Business
  • Financial Literacy Training
  • Fraud Detection and Management
  • Loan management
  • Marketing/ E-Marketing/ Branding for the Global Environment
  • Mobile Money/ Mobile Banking/ Digital Financial Literacy
  • Personal Finance
  • Record Keeping
  • Sales Boosting
  • Taxation
  • Train-the-Trainer

All the sessions are deemed transformational as they bring the business owners to realize what they can do better to remain relevant not only at the local level but also in an overall global market.

AFC is more than eager to continue supporting MSMEs in its project countries with further events.
