Market surveillance and Consumer Protection in Serbia

In December 2009 the goverment of Serbia presented a formal application for memebership oft he European Union. Recently the application has entered the first formal steps in the process. Trade with the EU is substantial and varies since many years between 50 and 60 percent of im- and exports.  The present days fort he control of food producst and the marekt surveillance of non-food producst is in state of transition. Ministries are working hard to transpose the relevant EU regulations and directives in those fields. The overall objective oft he project ist o contribute a high level of protection of consumers in Serbia. The purpose oft his contract is to enable the market surveillance in Sebia to perfom effectively ist tasks and responsibilities under the new legislation for product and food safety and to protect the consumers to threats to health and safety.
Qualifications: 
University degree in Management, Economics, Engineering, Public Administration or similar topic English proficiency and very good analytical skills He or She should have at least 10 years, but preferably 15,  relevant work experience in the field of quality infrastructure (marekt surveillance, standardisation, accreditation,conformityassessment, testing, meterology) He or She should have at least 8 years, but prefereably 12, of relevant work experience in the field of market surveillance, gained in a EU member state He or She should have experience from previous EU projects  with a simliar complexity in the position of a team leader  
Start / Duration: 
Start of project may 2012, input will be 440 working days within 2 years
