Indian Renewable Energy Development

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) was set up in 1987 by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy - MNRE) to promote financial assistance to renewable energy and energy efficiency / conservation projects. The planned TA shall focus on general support to IREDA as an institution, however. The objective of the KfW Programmes is to promote the use of renewable energy sources for electricity generation in India. Primarily, project types which are relatively new in India in terms of technology, institutional setup or financing structure shall be financed. The focus of the accompanying measure of the second line of credit is IREDA’s risk management and the focus of the fourth is on solar energy projects. The range of envisaged technical assistance for IREDA in general and in connection with the two project parts (IREDA II and IV) is quite wide and rather intertwined. Many of the envisaged consulting activities have financial / banking sector as well as technical / energy aspects. To ensure a coherent high level of effective advisory services without losses of efficiency the activities are structured into 3 components. There will only be ONE responsible team leader as central contact person for IREDA’s top management and KfW. The team leader will primarily be responsible for the overall management of the three packages. He or she will be based at IREDA during much of the duration of the project. He or she will be responsible for the work plans, implementation schedules, monitoring of project activities, development and finalization of reports. The Team Leader will: Co-ordinate the project’s management and implementation Manage and supervise the project Ensure the project outputs and outcomes Monitor indicators and control procedures Liaise with and advise the top management of IREDA
Qualifications: 
Qualification and skills University education (M.Sc., MBA or similar level) General international professional experience: Minimum 10 years, of which at least 5 years abroad Specific professional experience: Minimum of 6 years with explicit experience in: management in the banking sector, leading and coordinating international teams in multi-cultural context, monitoring and evaluation, writing and editing management reports Experience in the fields of banking and renewable energy Excellent English, spoken and written Full computer literacy
