Senior Consultant - Grant Administration and Renewable Energy Development / REGIONAL OFF-GRID ELECTRICITY ACCESS PROJECT (ROGEAP)

Project: REGIONAL OFF-GRID ELECTRICITY ACCESS PROJECT (ROGEAP)

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced senior consultant to spearhead our efforts in grant administration and the development of renewable energy initiatives, with a particular focus on promoting off-grid solar technologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in achieving our mission of expanding access to sustainable electricity services in the fifteen ECOWAS member countries and four Sahelian countries (namely Cameroon, Chad, Mauritania and Central African Republic).

The successful candidate will be based in Togo.

Responsibilities

  1. Contribute to the administration of grants and support the selection of beneficiaries;
  2. Facilitate and coordinate the creation of a strong pipeline of companies to deliver the required portfolio with a particular focus on reaching smaller companies
  3. Review and analyze grant funding requests coordinating the launching of calls for proposals with the project team and ECOWAS;
  4. Review financial reports of prospective clients/grantees and partners, and analyses clients financial and business performance;
  5. Define meaningful key performance indicators (KPIs) and creation of management information dashboards; producing bankable projects and financing requests;
  6. Support businesses with uptake of digital innovation such as integration of PAYGO/consumer finance and mobile money.
  7. Support the development of a vibrant pipeline of Commercial Financial Institutions by offering capacity building to the CFIs to enable them to understand the nuances of the standalone solar industry and prepare guidelines on e-waste management to be communicated to CFIs.
  8. Facilitate access to further financial support schemes or follow-on investment; and ultimately, increase the uptake and adoption of off-grid solar technologies for households, productive end-users (SMEs) and public institutions.

 

Qualifications: 
  1. Master 's degree in Business administration, Finance or Renewable Energy 
  2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in grant administration, project management, or a related field.
  3. Proven track record of minimum 12 years successfully managing and leading teams.
  4. Strong financial analysis skills and experience with project financing.
  5. Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and the off-grid solar industry.
  6. Experience working with international organizations or donors including world bank is preferred.
  7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  8. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  9. Proficiency in French and English .
  10. Willingness to travel in the region and relocate to Togo.
