Support to the development of a geographical indications system

The overall objective of the project is to support the implementation of the provisions of the Association Agreement concerning GIs, in view of ensuring their protection and creating opportunities for added value products, stimulating diversification and local initiative in particular for small producers.

The purpose of this contract is to establish a Ukrainian System of Geographical Indications for Wines, Aromatised wines, Spirit Drinks and Agricultural Products and Foodstuffs.

Agricultural Finance in Ukraine

The objective of this feasibility study is to analyze the bottlenecks in the agro sector for micro, small and medium sized farm enterprises and how they may be tackled with different financial instruments via the financial sector. Based on this analysis the study shall offer potential financial cooperation interventions to KfW which are feasible for implementation.

EU legislation on Common Market Organizations (CMO)

The aim of this contract is to develop a strategy for gradual adoption of EU legislation on Common Market Organizations (CMO) by the accession and to improve the institutional capacity of Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MoFAL) related with Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and CMO regime.

The Contractor will provide services such as:

  • Preparation of a strategy putting forward a roadmap for the gradual adoption of the EU legislation on CMO rules and practices that describes necessary legal and administrative steps.

Improving the implementation of the EU's Nitrate Directive in Turkey

The main purpose of the contract is to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (MoFAL) during the convergence of the Turkish agricultural system to the post common agriculturalpolicy (CAP) reform on European greening agricultural rules (particularly Nitrate Directive).

To this end, the contractor shall provide the following services:

Promotion of Sustainable Economic Development in Kyrgyzstan

The overall objective of the programme is to create jobs and increase income through the promotion of sustainable economic development, with the consideration of a green economy. The programme encompasses four fields of interventions (FoI): (1) Value Chain Promotion, (2) Local Economic Development, (3) Access to Finance and (4) Reform Policy.

Promoting Capacity Building in Financial Institutions in South Asia

The Asian Development Bank has approved 2 facilities in Sri Lanka to the non-banking financial sector for leasing activities and on-lending to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs). The ADB funding is being supported by technical assistance (TA), which will help the banks improve capacity to provide MSMEs with longer-term financing. The work will focus on:
