Central Asia AIDS Control Project (CAAP) funded by the World Bank and DFID, has been implementing HIV/AIDS Control Project in four Central Asian countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan (Turkmenistan can be invited to participate in some activities). The principal recipient of the grant is Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC). CAAP is in a process of receiving grant at USD 3 mln. Additional financing that supports enhancement of Regional Public Health Platform through supporting public health and veterinary services in project countries.

Financial Sector Programme (Micro, SME and Mortgage Financing Programme)

Financial Sector development is a priority area of German Uzbek Development Cooperation. Based on the agreement reached between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Federal Republic of Germany, the “Financial Sector Programme” (Micro, SME and Mortgage Financing Programme) is targeted at the promotion of MSMEs and mortgage finance by channeling the funds through up to 6 partner banks (hereafter referred to as “PBs”).

Rural Financial Sector Programme

The objective of the Programme is to strengthen private sustainable financial institutions that provide financial services for micro and small enterprises (MSE) mainly in rural areas and outside of Dushanbe. The overarching developmental goal of the Programme is to contribute to the creation and stabilization of employment and income through deepening and broadening of the Tajik rural financial sector.
