Planning, organisation and implementation of the regional and continental CAADP Africa Forums 2013 – 2016

Since 2007, the German development cooperation supports the CAADP process on a regional level through various programs and projects. In 2012, three GIZ projects were bundled in the Programme "Support to Pan-African reform processes in Agricultural Economic Development (NEPAD / CAADP)". The program duration is five years (2012 - 2016) and is based in Pretoria, South Africa, in close proximity to the NEPAD Planning and Coordination Agency (NPCA). AFC has been contracted to assist the regional farmers unions (UMAGRI, ROPPA, PROPAC, EAFF and SACAU) in planning and organisation of the forums, to identify gaps and weaknesses in the organisation of the forums and propose and implement respective training and thus, contribute to the capacity building within these organisations. The Objective of the assignment is to contribute to the capacity development of local and regional stakeholders to implement inclusive and coherent agricultural economic strategies, through the implementation of the CAADP Africa Forums as a knowledge and information platform on regional and continental level.  Activities will focus on Technical support in the concept design and the thematic content of the forums Support and advice in the organisation of the forums (logistics, moderation, communication) Support to the budget team in the financing of the forums and identification of new sponsors Assistance in the development of public relations activities (website, media etc.) Start/Completion: 01.01.2013 – 31.12.2016 Client: GIZ Budget: € 950.000 Contact Person: tesa.weiss [at] afci.de
