AFC’s project German-Ukrainian Cooperation in Organic Agriculture (COA) actively participated in an online discussion platform held on April 16, as an independent event within the V International «Congress Organic Ukraine 2021».

This platform was organised by Information Center “Green Dossier” in the frame of its project “Ukrainian Green Way from Farm to Fork: step by step” which is supported by the European Union and the International Renaissance Foundation within the framework of the EU4USociety project. More than 200 participants from state institutions, from organic enterprises and from international projects and organizations from Ukraine, Germany, and Belgium took part of the event. They discussed impacts and questions related to the implementation of the European Green Deal, the Farm to Fork Strategy as well as the EU Organic Production Action Plan.

COA’s new team leader, Dr. Stefan Dreesmann, contributed with a statement regarding the beneficial conditions for organic agriculture in Ukraine, the significant demand for high quality production as well as the need for market developments within the country. He emphasized on the potential of the various measures for targeted state support for the sector as a driving force. A good mix of several means can help to increase the organically farmed area in the Ukraine in the future and, add value creation on site.
