Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development in Turkmenistan

The Idea of the project is to support the Government of Turkmenistan in the achievement of the national sector objectives with regard to sustainable agriculture, rural development and institutional support.

To increase the productivity and competitiveness of the agro-food sector through activities aimed to improve agro-food production, processing and marketing and to strengthen the capacity of Turkmen agriculture institutions.

 

Qualifications: 

Qualifications and skills

  • The key expert must hold a postgraduate university degree in the field of agriculture, rural development, animal production and/or development economics or equivalent

  • The key expert must have a very good knowledge of English and Russian, both oral and written

General professional experience

  • The key expert must have at least 3 years of experience in programme management with international organisations or institutions

Specific professional experience

  • Experience in working with government departments or government bodies; recent experience in an agricultural development programme funded by international donors is an advantage;

  • Experience in working with EU-funded programmes, either in implementation or in monitoring and evaluation is an added value;

Start / Duration: 

The operational base of the project will be Ashgabat. Project activities will also take place in other regions of Turkmenistan, which will be selected during the Inception phase of the project and to which members of the Technical Assistance Team (TAT) may be required to travel. Activities will also include arranging ad-hoc training (study tour, work placement) abroad (EU countries).

The period of implementation of the contract will be 48 months
