Azerbaijan_Entrepreneurial Development in Rural Areas

The overall objective of this project is to contribute to business development, employment generation across alleconomic regions of Azerbaijan and to raise rural livelihoods and the quality of life in rural areas.

The purposeof the project is to support Ministry of Economy and its relevant structures to provide improved support for entrepreneurship and SME development in rural areas. The project will provide technical assistance to Ministry of Economy and its relevant structures, notably to business incubators, to improve the quality and variety ofbusiness support services for start-ups, entrepreneurs, SMEs, farmers and youth in rural regions and so build sustainable businesses.

Qualifications: 

  • University degree in agricultural or economic sciences, or comparable field

  • At least 10 years of work experience in in rural economic development (local and regional), private sector promotion of agriculture, promotion of agricultural value chains, gender

  • Experience in cooperation with private sector

  • Good knowledge of the regional agricultural sector / agriculture and the relevant actors (state and private)

  • Experience in organizing and conducting trainings

  • Fluency in written and spoken English, Russian would mean an strong advantage

  • Experience in EU funded development cooperation is an advantage

  • Dialogue and moderation skills, diplomatic skills in dealing with political decision-makers, sensitivity and communication skills

 

Start / Duration: 

Provisional commencement date of the contract: February 2019; Initial period of implementation of tasks: 30 months
