Consulting Services for the “Deposit Insurance Fund” Project

The Palestine Monetary Authority has recently established the Palestine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) in order to safeguard small bank depositors, promote a stable and sound banking sector and contribute to sustainable economic development in Palestine. The principal aim of the PDIC is to provide insurance for all deposits and especially for small deposits (up to US$10,000 and covering around 92 percent of depositors) at PMA-licensed banks operating in Palestine in case of bankruptcy or liquidation of the bank.

MENA_Southern Neighbourhood Bank Lending Survey Technical Assistance Programme

The objective of this TA operation is to help to deepen the understanding of the financial sector and access to finance in the Southern Neighbourhood, by launching a Bank Lending Survey in the Region. Ultimately, this will also support a well-informed dialogue of the EIB with the European Commission, EU member states, partner countries, local banks and other stakeholders about banking sector trends and private sector development in the Southern Neighbourhood.

Programme for the Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (PAD II) : Strengthening of Farmer-Based Organizations

This contract aims at strengthening farmer-based organizations (FBO) as part of the GIZ PAD II programme. In Tunisia, two types of FBO can be distinguished: a) the Mutual Agricultural Service Companies (Sociétés Mutuelles de Services Agricoles, SMSA) and b) the Agricultural Development Groups (Groupements de Développement Agricole, GDA).

Programme for the Promotion of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development (PAD II) : Preparation of an Agripreneurship Guide 2.0

The aim of the contract is the preparation of a manual (“guide”) to provide information and services for entrepreneurs in the agricultural and agri-food sector (“agripreneurs”) in Tunisia.  This guide will support the development of agricultural entrepreneurship capacities, startups and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) in the agriculture and agri-food sector, also integrating information and communication technologies (ICT).

Jordan's microfinance sector has been growing strongly in recent years but has been neglected by regulators, thus comprising significant stability risks. After having conducted a sector assessment, the Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) concluded to take over a leading role in both regulating and supervising the microfinance sector.
