ENPARD – Support to Agriculture and Rural Development

Agriculture is an important but currently declining sector in Moldova’s economy. Moldovan agricultural employment almost halved in a decade but is still high compared to other regions of Europe. Fast structural changes in the economy have raised employment opportunities outside farming and have driven people out of rural areas. Due to increased job opportunities outside agriculture, a migration has started in two directions: from rural to urban areas and from local to foreign markets in search for better income.

Das übergeordnete Ziel des Vorhabens ist, die Qualität und damit die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der ökologischen Landwirtschaft in der Ukraine zu verbessern.

Der Ökolandbau seinerseits trägt dazu bei, Innovationen für die Landwirtschaft insgesamt zu generieren, die Umweltschäden zu verringern und die Produktion nachhaltiger zu gestalten. Das Entwicklungsziel lautet demnach die Verbesserung der Qualität im Subsektor Ökolandbau in der Ukraine.

Advice to Ukraine on agricultural trade issues under the deep and comprehensive Free-Trade Agreement (DCFTA) between the EU and Ukraine

Aim of the project is to support The Ukrainian agro-food companies to identify European export markets to penetrate these, to consolidate and to grow as well as to prepare for the opening of their own markets; furthermore German companies are better informed on agricultural trade issues with the Ukraine.

German – Ukrainian Agricultural Policy Dialogue (APD)

The aim of the project is to further develop the Ukrainian agricultural policy sector. In the light of the international, in particular also German experience and the EU Free Trade Association Agreement, the Ukrainian agricultural policy can enhance its contribution for the development of the sector and the rural areas.

The project aims at achieving the following results:

Setting up of a German- Ukrainian agricultural demonstration and training centre (ADFZ)

The Project aims at enhancing the practical knowledge and skills on the methods of modern and sustainable agricultural production of management and technical staff as well as vocational teachers of the Ukrainian agricultural sector through trainings and demonstrations.
