Value Chain Agro Finance

 

The Programme “Value Chain Agro Finance” aims to enhance food value chain competitiveness by providing working capital finance as well as by increasing the availability of long-term finance in Tajik Somoni (TJS) for agricultural equipment and machinery. The Program aims to create and support selected value chains across for the production of competitive agri-food products in a sustainable way and promote the use of good agricultural practice and best available techniques in processing and distribution. This will increase the competitiveness of Tajik agro-food products on local and regional markets.

Objectives:

  1. Support MEDT and KfW in the implementation of the Programme “Value Chain Agro Finance”
  2. Assist the PFIs to improve their agricultural credit technology and business models with regard to costs and risks as well as best practice Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS) thus leading to the sustainable extension of long-term loans to the target group;
  3. Provide business planning and credit application training to the target group including the establishment of best agricultural practices.
