In 2014, AFC in consortium with GOPA, won the GIZ contract for the project Sustainable Economic Development Programme (SEDIN) “Development of agricultural and non-agricultural value chains”. After two contract extensions, resulting in a project duration of 6 years and a total volume of 4.3 mio EUR, the project has now been officially closed.

Over the project duration AFC’ team – consisting of a team leader, a support person, and six national advisors - substantially contributed to SEDIN’s successes. The overall objective of the SEDIN Program has been to improve the employment and income situation of MSME in selected sectors with a regional focus on the three federal states of Ogun, Niger and Plateau. The contract with AFC concentrated on activities in value chains of sectors with a high growth potential: the agro-allied (cassava, potatoes, rice) and the construction / affordable housing sector.

Resulting highlights have been numerous, and interesting information can be found here.

We thank our AFC Team and GIZ Nigeria for their long and trustful relationship and look forward to continued excellent collaboration within our other three ongoing GIZ-financed projects in Nigeria.
