Wesentliche Aufgaben der Langzeitfachkraft bestehen in: Durchführung des deutschen Beitrages vor Ort als Ansprechpartner der Komponente „Dezentrale Planung“, damit direkter Ansprechpartner des Vorhabens beim MPI-DoP Enge und intensive Abstimmung mit den Beratern der anderen Komponenten Fachliche Steuerung eines Beratungsteams des AN (Lang- und Kurzzeitfachkräfte; siehe unten) in den oben genannten Bereichen Zuständig für die Koordinierung mit und Anleitung des Planungskernteams im MPI/DOP, dabei enge Abstimmung mit der CIM Integrierten Fachkraft

The Junior Farmer Organisations/Value Chain Experts, based at the PPCOs, will work closely with PAFO/PAFEC and DAFO staff in supporting the emergence of Farmer Organisations (FOs) and value chains.  They will be responsible for the following activities: Under the guidance of the International Farmers Organisations/Value Chain Specialist, facilitate the establishment of FOs, Cooperatives and value chains at the field level Assist in the development of FO development teams at provincial and field levels and defining their job descriptions

Agricultural policy development is one of the ongoing challenges faced by the Government in Lao PDR as it seeks to implement its Agricultural Development Strategy Vision to the year 2020 while being exposed to the influence of external influences from the ever increasing globalization of economic trade zones, increased connectivity through transport routes within the GMS, and increasing pressure on land resources for foreign direct investment and contract farming that can lead to unsustainable agricultural practices.
